Jamaican International recording artiste St Matthew will be the main attraction tonight as the Heavenly Light World Outreach Ministry concludes its youth conference with a gospel-event billed as the “Ready Back Concert”.
The concert will be the grand finale to the ongoing youth conference being held by the church’s youth department- “EDGE”- under the theme: ‘Nah badda me bout meh past, but watch de direction meh flying in’. Tonight’s concert is expected to re-emphasise the point that persons’ past mistakes do not necessary have to hinder them from achieving success.
St Matthew, who sings reggae, dancehall and rap gospel, converted to Christianity in 2001 and is seen as a rising talent in the gospel industry.
Prior to his conversion, he was part of the musical group Marawdaz, and was known as “Suicide”, as he became popular for his crazy antics. After his conversion, St Matthew decided to spread the message of Christ and the change that He can bring to a person’s life.
The concert will also feature Surinamese singer Rachel Stakel and local gospel stars Kester D and Solid Youth. Rising gospel group Christ-like Soldiers and other local singers are expected to perform.
The concert will be held in the church auditorium at 150 Cooper Street, Albouystown and starts at 6.30 pm. Admission is $500.
