Barbados kick started this year’s fourth regional Blind Cricket tournament with a win against the home side at the National Stadium at Providence yesterda y afternoon.
Guyana won the toss and opted to field after officials debated the suitability of the pitch and declared the match would start after midday.
Barbados scored 172 in their allotted 15 overs leaving the home team to score 179 after they were penalized.
Guyana made heavy weather of the target and after 10 overs had only scored 81 runs.
They eventually lost by 53 runs.
The competition continues today at the same venue with last years’ joint champions Trinidad and Tobago opposing Guyana in the morning and Barbados taking on joint champs Jamaica.
