CAMBRIDGE, England, CMC – Centuries from Justice Prakash Moosai, of Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbadian Gregory Nicholls, powered West Indies North to a 98-run victory over Ireland in the Lawyers Cricket World Cup on Saturday.
Batting first, West Indies attorneys reached 259 for five off the allotted 35 overs.
Moosai, captain of the team, scored an even 100 while Nicholls ended on 103 not out.
In reply, Ireland reached 161 all out in 33 overs.
The defeat ended Ireland’s chances of reaching the semi-finals.
In another match, Australia easily outgunned the West Indies South team.
Batting first, Australia reached 322 for five in 35 overs with two of their players scoring centuries.
In reply, West Indies South reached 156 for nine, with Ganesh Mahabir scoring 44 and Justice Joseph Tam 40.
