Junior Squash team pays courtesy call to sport Minister Frank Anthony

The Caribbean junior squash champions paid a courtesy call to Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Dr. Frank Anthony yesterday who congratulated them on their success at this year’s Caribbean Junior Squash Championships staged last month in Barbados. The Minister took time out of his busy schedule to meet with the team which participated against some of the Caribbean’s promising squash players at the  squash championship.

Dr. Anthony encouraged the juniors to keep their heads held high and continue the good work. The under-15 title was won by Victoria Arjoon while the sensational showdown between the Jeffrey twins, Keisha and Kayla was  one of the highlights of the tournament. The all Guyanese under 17 girls final was also one to watch with Ashley Khalil and Keisha Jeffrey. In the end Jeffrey overpowered Khalil to defend her title.

Other members of the team were not able to reach thus far but reached the quarter and semi final rounds.
