Dear Editor,
I refer to your story published August 8, entitled ‘Wesley Kirton writes US AG on Simels’ trial disclosures,’ where my name John Decaires was reported as having been appended as a ‘signatory’ to Mr Kirton’s letter.
Please note that while I had indicated by email that I would like my name to be included on a “list” of sympathizers/supporters, it was not my intention to be designated as an originator of this letter. I did not participate in the crafting/composition of the letter which would, in essence, justify my name being implictly included within the word “we” as used in Mr Kirton’s letter.
I am merely a sympathizer in relation to some of the perspectives in the letter, with no desire to be arbitrarily identified as an activist, in any shape or form.
