Randy Ganesh, the man who stabbed his father twice after the father had intervened in an argument between Randy and his wife was yesterday placed before Magistrate Priya Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer the charge of unlawful and malicious wounding.
The defendant pleaded guilty with explanation to the charge which stated that on August 8 at Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Yogsaran Ganesh.
When given a chance to respond, the defendant who works as a porter and resides at 1 Bel Air, Georgetown, told the court that it was anger that caused him to stab his father. He then made a series of allegations.
The virtual complainant (VC) who according to the police is out of hospital was not present in court.
The prosecution said that on the day in question, the VC had intervened in an argument with the defendant and his wife when the defendant stabbed him twice, once to his neck and then to his head. The prosecution had no objection to bail.
The accused was later placed on $30,000 bail and ordered to return to court on August 13. Additionally, the magistrate ordered that a probation officer investigate the matter.
