GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, CMC – The Cayman Island’s No.1 Dean Watson is preparing for a shot at his first regional title when he leads the local team into the Caribbean Senior Squash Championships here next week.
As player/coach, Watson takes a strong local team into competition against the Caribbean’s best when the tournament starts next Monday at the South Sound Squash Club.
Watson is coming off a spectacular victory in the final of the inaugural Cayman Open in May when he beat Barbadian Shawn Simpson in the final.
Anticipating another stiff challenge from the Caribbean’s premier players, Watson hopes home advantage will work for the local team. “The players for the Cayman team are working very hard and hopefully we can get a home victory, which would be great,” he said.
