TRANMERE, England, CMC – Grenadian striker Kithson Bain is poised to sign a contract with English League One side Tranmere Rovers.
The north west England side has received the Governing Body Endorsement for Bain, a development that paves the way for the club to apply for a work permit.
Tranmere’s manager John Barnes, who left the post as Jamaica head coach earlier this year, said he was already very impressed with the strongly built forward.
“Kithson is a big, strong, quick striker. We need a bit more strength up front and Kithson will provide it. He will be a good addition to the squad,” Barnes pointed out.
“He was the top scorer in the Caribbean Cup when I was manager of Jamaica and he carried the Grenada side.”
Bain was also a part of the Spice Boyz squad which turned out in the recent CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States.
Tranmere have had a see-saw start to the new season, losing the opening league fixture 2-0 but bouncing back with an impressive 4-0 victory in the Carling Cup.
