Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Wednesday ordered a Herstelling man to keep the peace for two years when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charge of using threatening language towards his former wife.
It is alleged that on August 10, in Georgetown, Vibert Singh made use of threatening language towards Natasha Waldron thereby disturbing the peace. Singh pleaded not guilty to the charge while his former wife declined to pursue the matter.
However, Waldron asked the court to warn Singh to stay away from her. The magistrate then informed the woman of the steps she needed to take for such a request to be granted.
Singh was subsequently bonded and Waldron was ordered to pay court costs of $10,000.
