Sunburst Camptown defeated BK International to enter the knockout round of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Courts Pee Wee Football Competition at the Banks DIH, Thirst Park Ground on Tuesday.
Camptown whipped Western Tigers 2-0 in the curtain raiser of the double header that had Buxton United and Pele Football Clubs playing to a stalemate in the final showdown.
On Wednesday Western Tigers and Buxton United were to collide for the last quarter-final spot at the Banks DIH Ground but because of the inclement weather the match was postponed to a further date. The seven teams into the knockout round thus far are Fruta Conquerors, Renaissance, Santos, Uprising, Thomas United, Sunburst Camptown and Marian Academy.
The Camptown/Western Tigers showdown saw Camptown scoring twice in the first half and defending their lead throughout the remainder of the match.
Ishmael Rogers scored in the fourth minute for Camptown and team-mate Sherwin Arthur scored four minutes later.
Neither Pele nor Buxton were able to score in either half of their encounter even though both teams had good opportunities to find the back of the net.
