Leading from the front: Re-elected PNCR leader Robert Corbin as he led protesters in front of the Office of the President yesterday to continue to press for an international investigation into the alleged links between the Guyana government and confessed drug trafficker Roger Khan. If the Guyana Police Force wanted to conduct an investigation into the reported link, Corbin told reporters, it would have already done so. He also stressed the need for an international inquiry, since local law enforcement officials have also been implicated in Khan’s activities.
Corbin stated that yesterday’s protest was a reminder to the Jagdeo administration that “we will not stop until we get progress.” Corbin was re-elected over the weekend at the PNCR’s 16th Biennial Congress, where he defended the party’s militancy under his leadership while emphasising the need for “militant but intelligent” opposition.
