A bus driver, who allegedly used abusive language to a woman after she scolded him for speeding, was on Friday granted bail in the sum of $15, 000, when he appeared before Magistrate Priya Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Tyronne Wong of David Street, Subryanville had pleaded not guilty to a charge which stated that he used abusive language to Onika Mendonza on August 28 at Regent Street.
The prosecution stated that on the day in question Mendonza was a passenger of bus BFF534 driven by Wong when she observed him speeding.
It said that Mendonza then cautioned Wong for speeding but that he became annoyed and started using abusive language to her.
She later made a report to the police station and Wong was arrested and charged.
The magistrate subsequently granted Wong bail and ordered that he return to court on September 2.
