Defending champions the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) retained the Commander-in-Chief Cup when they defeated the Guyana Police Force (GPF) in the final recently at Eve Leary.
Batting first upon winning the toss, GDF rattled up 259-9 from their allotted 40 overs with Lieutenant Farhat Uthman top scoring with 83.
Also among the runs were Captain James Fraser who made 57 and Second Lieutenants Paul Castello and Andre Mc Farlane with 36 and 32 runs respectively.
Bowling for GPF, Cadet Officer Sullivan took 4-35 and Assistant Superintendent Cambridge 2-34.
Needing to score 260 to win, Police succumbed to 140 all out in 33.5 overs with Assistant Superintendents Bacchus top scoring with 34.
Uthman took 3-32 while McFarlane and Castello took 2-19 and 2-14 runs respectively.
