The Uprising Football Club tore apart the Pele Football Club 10-0 on the opening day of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Chubby Under-13 football competition at the Tucville Playfield on Sunday.
In other results, Thomas United sank Georgetown Football Club (GFC) 4 – 1; Renaissance got past Riddim Squad 2 – 1; Fruta Conquerors and Santos played to a three-all draw and Alpha United gained a victory over Flamingo via the walkover route.
Ron Heywood led the way for Uprising with a helmet-trick while receiving support from Wayne Murray.
Heywood scored in the ninth, 49th, 53rd and 67th minutes while Murray recorded his double in the 11th and 57th minutes.
The other goals were scored by Damini Thomas in the 10th, Stephon Reynolds – 61st, Akosy Jervis – 40th, Joshua Perreira – 58th and Shamar Harvey – 65th minute.
Goals from Thomas United’s Joel Dash (13th), Andel Hatton (22nd), Kevin Andrew (32nd) and Trevon Calender (69th) over-shadowed the lone goal from GFC’s Adion Pharbhoo scored in the 48th minute.
Renaissance’s Omali Henry and Aquill Ilefole scored in the 62nd and 79th minutes to give their team a come from behind victory against Riddim Squad who scored first through a Jermaine Beckles strike in the 52nd minute.
The goal rich draw between Santos and Conquerors saw Jerome Liddell, Orin Yarde and Travis Alexander scoring for Santos in the 40th, 44th and 49th minutes while Ryan Hackett, Earnel McKay and Romelo Fraser scored for Conquerors in the 23rd, 27th and 55th minutes respectively.
Meanwhile, the Riddim Squad Senior team sank Black Pearl 4 – 1 in the Western Union first-division competition at the Camptown ground and Kitty Northern Rangers failed to show up for their encounter giving Santos a walkover victory.
Ames Boman, Seyon Hope, Orville Stuart and Amos Ramsay were the goal scorers for Riddim Squad in the fourth, 23rd, 52nd and 61st minutes respectively whilst Mark Carter scored in the 29th minute for Black Pearl.
