Dear Editor,
I am writing to you because I feel thoroughly disgusted and upset at what appears to me to be a blatant disregard of laws in this Garden City of ours.
Every day I have to travel along Croal Street from Vlissengen Road to King Street, and as I approach Camp Street, I cannot avoid seeing how the parapet opposite a certain shop which caters for miners is occupied with trucks and all kinds of equipment. As far as I am concerned what is happening is in clear contravention of the municipal and environmental laws.
In situations less glaring, action has been taken. I am beginning to wonder if there are different rules for different people or whether there is only one rule.
Will someone please explain what is happening here?
Yours faithfully,
Jonas MF Coddett
