The Uprising and Sunburst Camptown Football Clubs were dominant in the latest round of the Chubby Under-13 Football Competition which is organized by the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) when they defeated their opponents at the Tucville Playfield on Saturday.
Uprising thrashed the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) 10 – 0 while Camptown sank Pele 8 – 0; Flamingo defeated Riddim Squad 3 – 1; Fruta Conquerors and Renaissance played to a nil all draw and Alpha United failed to show up for their match against Santos even though Santos could not produce a list of players to the referees.
Nyron Joseph led the way for Uprising with a hat-trick while Kerron Heywood and Yannick Garraway supported with doubles.
Joseph scored in the 30th, 37th and 59th minutes, Heywood was successful in the 15th and 23rd and Garraway scored in the 40th and 53rd minutes.
Travis Lyken, Wayne Murray and Zackery Garraway scored in the 45th, 47th and 56th minutes for Uprising, respectively.
Camptown had Azumah Small leading the way with a double, recorded in the 34th and 51st minutes while Seth Williams (8th), Shawn Clarke (16th), Ossafo Peters (20th), Oziel Small (37th), Jason Williams 44th and Steffon Vandyke (57th) supported with one goal each.
In the Flamingo/Riddim Squad battle, Orlando Ricketts helped dominate with his double while being supported by Colin Watermon.
Ricketts’ goals in the 39th and 45th and Watermon’s 25th minute goal proved too much for the opposition who only managed to score one goal in the 42nd minute through a Omali Henry strike.
