A 31-year-old security officer attached to the Linmine Secretariat was on Tuesday remanded to prison by Magistrate Ann McLennan, when he appeared before her charged with buggery.
Quincy Gilbert of Wismar, Linden was not required to plead since the charge was laid indictably.
It is alleged that the man committed the offence against a five-year-old boy repeatedly between July 12 and September 6 at Christianburg.
Police Prosecutor Jerry Tyndall objected to bail because of the prevalence of the offence in the Linden community and because of the age of the child involved.
The accused is to return to court on November 3.
