(Jamaica Gleaner) – The United Kingdom Border Agency has arrested four Jamaican women on suspicion of taking part in bogus marriages.
Police officers and immigration officials reportedly carried out dawn raids on 10 addresses in central England.
The four women are alleged to have married British citizens so that they could remain in the UK after overstaying their visas.
Officials say the raids were based largely on intelligence provided by a Jamaican man, Venrick Clarke, who was jailed last year for masterminding a marriage scam scheme.
