The South Carolina Lady All-Star team is expected here today along with their coach Larry Davis for a development tour which will conclude on September 22.
They will get right down to business today with a courtesy call on Minister of Sport Dr. Frank Anthony and Director of Sport Neil Kumar and would also begin their stint with a clinic for junior and senior female players.
Tonight, the semi-professional team would do battle against the locals at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Davis, prior to coming to Guyana, said that his goal was to teach players the correct fundamentals of the game while promoting Christian behaviour on and off the court as well as AIDS awareness and the importance of education.
Similar activities would be held in Linden but it was not noted if they would go to Berbice.
