The Union of Seventh Day Adventists (USDA) of Number 30 Village, West Berbice is holding a series of health lectures and medical checks, which got underway yesterday and continues today and tomorrow at Bush Lot.
Personal Ministry leader of the USDA, Brother Eustace Saul told Stabroek News that the events would be held in conjunction with the Guyana Conference of Seventh Adventists at the old primary school.
He noted that “life can only be sweet and enjoyable when someone has good health and we recognize the importance to live healthy lives day today.”
According to Saul there is no better way to educate children and adults about taking care of their bodies than going into the village.
Some of the topics to be dealt with, he said, are stress management, diabetes, hypertension, family life and drugs.
Today the medical team would be “doing checks and making presentations” from 9 am and persons are asked to be seated 15 minutes before the session commences.
Meanwhile, tomorrow the lectures would begin at 3.30 pm and there would also be time for questions and answers.
These activities are being offered to participants free of cost and Saul is encouraging “all our friends from Bush Lot and others from nearby villages to come out and hear for yourselves.”
