The Guyana Tapeball League (GTL) in association with the Guyana Softball League (GSL) two-day tape-ball tournament held last weekend was affected by the persistent rain on Sunday which left the field water logged and affected the completion of the tournament.
Nevertheless, several rounds including one semi final were completed with Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) going through to the final after defeating Scotia Bank by 16 runs. Scotia Bank won the toss and inserted GPHC who made 54-6 off their 10 overs. In reply, Scotia Bank were limited to 38 all out in five overs. In the semi-final, GPHC disposed of NIS and SSS Factory.
Meanwhile, the other semi –finals will be contested between Courts and Neal and Massy this Sunday at the NIS Ground.
The winner will take on the GPHC in the final.
Some other matches have been added for the day with a GTL Select XI taking on a Rest Side. In addition, there will be a double-wicket competition with all teams expected to field at least four pairs to contest. Entrance fees for this competition will be $500 and cash incentives will be presented in both categories.
