Tonight Cityvibe™ on DIRECTV will exclusively premiere, “Madonna: Sticky & Sweet”, the pop queen’s most recent concert shot last December in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she performed four sold-out shows for 250,000 people.
According to DIRECTV, Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet Tour” saw concerts performed during 2008 and 2009 to promote her eleventh album ‘Hard Candy’. After 15 years without any live presentation in Latin America, Madonna returned to Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Argentina’s stages.
More than 60,000 fans cheered and roared for Madonna during the four nights of her presentations at the famed River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires. The specially designed stage held 350 tons of equipment, around 33,000 meters of electrical cable, 9 hydraulic lifts, 28 of the best world dancers and an exceptional band.
Madonna and Jamie King, the show’s director, conceived the perfect presentation for the artist in the city she loves. Therefore, with a total of 30 cameras shooting from every possible angle over two nights, Darius Khanji, Director of Photography (who last worked with Madonna during the filming of Evita), and directors Nathan Rissman and Nick Wickham achieved something almost impossible – to perfectly capture the energy in the stadium – the sheer force of Madonna’s performance along with her group on stage, the release said.
The “Sticky & Sweet Tour” is the eighth concert tour for Madonna, one of the most important popular international icons of the last three decades.
