A 29-year-old taxi driver, who allegedly supplied a woman with a quantity of cocaine, was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Quacy Allen of 1832 North Ruimveldt pleaded not guilty to the charge of trafficking in narcotics.
He is accused of trafficking in 2.95 kilogrammes of cocaine by supplying the narcotics to Shellon Sancho on July 23.
His lawyer Glenn Hanoman requested that his client be given a speedy trial.
The magistrate subsequently ordered that Allen be remanded to prison and that the matter be transferred to the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court for September 28.
