A lone strike from Sonia Griffith was all it took for Lethem to record the first win over East Coast in the inaugural Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Inter-Association Women’s League, which opened yesterday at the Tucville Ground.
Both sides came out playing decent football but it was the ladies from the interior that looked more threatening and they duly made good on one of those threats with a goal in the 22nd minute through Griffith.
The tournament will continue next Sunday with another double header at the same venue.
