PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Trinidad & Tobago will leave for Guyana today for two warm-up matches as they gear up for the Twenty20 Champions League in India next month.
The reigning regional T20 champs will play a Guyana Select XI in the first of the two matches today in a day/night encounter at the New Providence Stadium with the second match scheduled for tomorrow.
“This is an opportunity for the team to put into practice some of the strategies that were discussed by the technical staff, and as far as we are concerned the journey begins now,” said team manager Colin Borde.
“As a squad, we expect that we all give our best while representing our country and the value and commitment cannot be underestimated.”
For the T20 Champions League, T&T will do battle in Group A with Indian Professional League (IPL) champions Deccan Charges and English title holders Somerset.
The locals open their campaign on October 12 against Somerset at Bangalore before meeting Deccan Chargers on October 14 at Hyderabad.
