(Barbados Nation) Finger-printing at the Grantley Adams International Airport is not mandatory, says government.
Reacting to yesterday’s press conference chaired by Deputy Opposition Leader and former Attorney General Dale Marshall, Minister of State with responsibility for Labour and Immigration Arni Walters confirmed that travellers, including Barbadians, were being fingerprinted but they were not obligated to have it done.
“As far as I know, it is not mandatory. This is a pilot scheme aimed at enhancing our border security.
Border control is an important element of any nation,” Senator Walters told the Saturday Sun from his office on Friday evening.
