CENTURION, South Africa, (Reuters) – Australia will not be taking England lightly in today’s Champions Trophy semi-final, off-spinner Nathan Hauritz said yesterday.
The Australians recovered from their Ashes defeat this year to completely outplay England in the one-day series which followed and crush their hosts 6-1.
“I don’t think the series win will have anything to do with the match at all,” Hauritz told a news conference. “The only thing that we can take from that series is that we have got a bit of a better gauge of each other.
“It is good to play them because we know their game although they also know ours. It’s a new game and a new venue, so it doesn’t really matter,” he added.
Hauritz said he had been impressed by England’s form in the Champions Trophy which brought them victories over South Africa and Sri Lanka.
