Warren `Forty’ McKay was the winner of the feature event of the third annual Maxie Pereira/Marlis Archer Memorial cycle event organized by the Continental Cycle Club and sponsored by the Alliance For Change held yesterday afternoon around the outer circuit of the National Park.
Mc Kay, just back from Trinidad, wrapped up the feature15-lap race in 1:29.52s to defeat Carlton Wheelers Alonso Greaves.
Leer Nunes was a close third while Geron Williams, Robin Persaud and Alex Mendes finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
Also in winners row yesterday were Williams who won the juvenile event, Persaud, who followed up his victory in Saturday’s feature event at the Hand-in-Hand-sponsored race around the inner circuit of the National Park by carting off the category 1, 2, 3 and 4 event and veteran cyclist Randy Toussaint who rolled back the years to cart off the veterans’ over 50 event.
Khemraj Ramjattan of the AFC was on hand to assist with the presentation of prizes.
