PNCR joins other parties in call for probe of state’s alleged involvement in criminality

The Joint Opposition Political Parties (JOPP) will be continuing its programme of public meetings to demand an international inquiry into the State’s alleged involvement in criminality, and has set out a schedule to this effect, a release said.

According to the schedule the JOPP will be holding  public meetings  at 5:00 pm tomorrow at Merriman Mall, Bourda, and on Saturday at 6:00 pm at Plaisance Line Top, East Coast Demerara.

Other public meetings are scheduled for October  27 at 5:00 pm at Indepen-dence Boulevard & Calendar Street, Albouystown; on October 28 at 6:00 pm at Cross & First Street, Alexander Village, East Bank Demerara; and on  October 31 at 6:00 pm at Melanie Shopping Plaza, ECD.

Meanwhile, the PNCR has joined the JOPP in this programme in which public forums have already been held in Georgetown and Linden, as well as a television panel discussion for the public education of Guyanese.

The dossier  on government’s human rights abuses, which is being compiled by the joint opposition, will soon be completed while the programme will be intensified, particularly in the context of the sentencing of Roger Khan in the New York courts, the release added.
