The 40th annual Pegasus Open hosted by the Guyana Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA) will kick off with a grand opening tomorrow at the Pegasus Hotel courts from 4pm.
The Pegasus Open is one of the main tournaments on the GLTA’s events calendar and is open to all age groups.
According to tennis coach Shelly Daly-Ramdyhan, at least 60 persons are expected to register for the tournament which usually attracts many tennis lovers and regulars.
Daly-Ramdyhan is also the defending ladies singles champion while Phillip Squires will defend his men’s Open singles title.
Both players are expected to be hard pressed to retain their crowns.

However, Squires managed to regain his form to take the second and third sets 6-2, 6-3 to lift the title.
