A man who allegedly robbed another man of a cell phone and a bicycle and was allegedly found with a firearm along with a quantity of ammunition without being the owner of a firearm licence was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Nigel Hawke at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Dwayne Duncan pleaded not guilty to the charges of robbery with violence and unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition.
He denied that on October 20, he used violence to rob Keith Fraser of a cell phone and a bicycle, totalling $38,000 in value.
He also denied that on the same day he had two .32 live rounds of ammunition and a .32 firearm without being the owner of a valid firearm licence.
The unrepresented Duncan was escorted out of the court by a policeman shortly after the charges were read.
