During my 40 years of contribution to the NIS I never entertained a thought that I would have had problems receiving a pension when it fell due as was the case with some of my colleagues.
I applied for a pension since early in July of 2009 and to date I have not been paid even though the problem with my contributions is minimal. The difference, based on the printout given to me, is in the vicinity of 2 and 3 percent, which can be adjusted when I would have appealed. Dr. Luncheon hinted that the records will take another two years to be straightened out. I cannot wait so long for a pension. I am not working and I have bills to pay. I have visited the NIS offices and have been to and from Camp St and Brickdam. I have hinted to the officials to pay me on whatever info they have on record in the system, because I am aware of the problems existing from changing from manual to computerization, but to no avail.
On a TV programme I viewed the other day mention was made that money is not there to pay pensions, this made me scared. I do hope that the info is contrary to reality.
