Harris wins Flying Ace 46-mile race

Turhan Harris warmed up for today’s `Riding For Life’ cycle road race by winning the Flying Ace Cycle Club anniversary 46-mile road race held in conjunction with Road Safety Week.

Harris’s winning time was two hours and 10 minutes and he was followed by Neil Reece, Raj Seepersaud, Dwight Holder, Rohan Persaud and Wasim Hasnoo in that order.

The event was sponsored by former cyclist Raj Seepersaud and organized by coach of the Flying Ace Cycle Club Randolph Roberts.

Traffic Chief Calvin Brutus gave a special prize to the first female finisher.

The race which started from the Springlands Police Station and ended in front of the Rose Hall Canje ground saw Reece winning the junior category.

Commander of ‘B’ Division George Vyphius presented the prizes to the winners immediately after the conclusion of the event, which was held in observance of the 23rd anniversary of the Flying Ace Cycle Club.
