The War Memorial at Stelling Road, Vreed-en-Hoop was refurbished and the keys handed over to the Region Three Chairman last Saturday.
The memorial was refurbished at a cost of over $800,000 by the owner of Len’s Hardware on Sheriff Street, Leonard Rambharose. Son of the deceased Rambharose, Max Rambharose said that it was his father’s wish to enhance and beautify the war memorial. He said it was his honour to fulfil his father’s long wish.
Meanwhile Chairman of Region Three, Julius Faeber after receiving the keys to the memorial said that it was a fine gesture by Len’s Hardware and thanked the donor for its generosity.
