A labourer accused of stealing a quantity of car accessories from another man’s car was yesterday admitted to $10,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Priya Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
The allegation is that between November 19 and 20 at Georgetown, Richard Edwards of 121 Lamaha Street, Georgetown stole one car windshield and one car battery valued $95,000, property of Rudy Matura.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge of simple larceny when it was read to him by the magistrate.
When given a chance to respond, the accused told the court that he knew nothing about the items.
The virtual complainant was not in court.
Edwards was later placed on $10,000 bail and ordered to return to Court Three on December 1.
