The dynamic table tennis pair of Michael Vieira and Andre Lopes ran away with Division `C’ of the Kenneth De Abreu table tennis league tournament following matches on Saturday at the Malteenoes Sports Club building.
The NP Electronics team played unbeaten in Division C for intermediate players blanking Gaza (Jamaal Duff, Chelsea Edghill and Sunil Logan) 3-0 in Saturday’s showdown.
NP Electronics ended with five wins from as many matches while Gaza took the runner up spot with four wins and the defeat by NP Electronics.
Terror Squad (Samuel Fraser and Elishaba Johnson) finished third and Dragons Warriors (Kyle Edghill and Alistair Parks) fourth.
In Division `A’ (for seniors and advanced players) Forehand Connection seems a sure bet to win the title.
With one match to play the Forehand Connection pair of Paul Meusa and Nigel Bryan have a 4-0 aggregate after squeaking past Nigel’s Supermarket 3-2 on Saturday.
In `A’ Division matches, Spartans (Hewley Griffith and Joel Alleyne) defeated Smiley Faces (Natalie Cummings and Remy Taitt) 3-0 while Smiley Faces defeated Nigel’s Super Market (Christopher Franklin, Jamaal Duff and Joseph Johnson) and Forehand Connection beat Unstoppable (Samuel Fraser and Dwayne Gibson) 3-0
In Division `B’ for advanced players, three teams finished in a three-way tie.
Following the tie-break system, Snipers came out on top with four wins and three defeats while Unstoppable with three wins and three defeats came second.
Smiley Faces took third place with an aggregate of three wins and four losses.
In `B’ Division matches on Saturday Snipers (Hewley Griffith and Joel Alleyne) defeated Unstoppable (Dwayne Gibson and Nigel Bryan) while Lil Champs (Sunil Logan, Elishaba Johnson and Kyle Edghill) went down to Outlaws (Adielle Rosheuvel and Samuel Fraser) 0-3
In Division `E’ for semi-intermediate players Dragon Warriors (Elishaba Johnson and Alistair Parks) defeated KRS (Kyle Edghill and Stephan Cornette) 3-0.
As a result, Dragon Warriors and Dominators (Chelsea Edghill and Priscilla Greaves) ended up in a tie, but Dragons Warriors were declared winners of the division after defeating Dominators in their head-to-head clash.
Top Spin (Zane Rogers, Carl Handy and Killon Tracey) finished third and Turbo TT (Sachin Panday and Brandon Gomes) fourth.
The tournament will continue with Division `A’ matches today at the Malteenoes Sports Club from 4.30 with the presentation ceremony to follow.
