A senior police source told Stabroek News yesterday that no clues have been found and no suspects have been identified, although investigations are ongoing into the matter.

Meanwhile, the man’s mother Florizel Fraser said yesterday that she has gotten no further word from investigators and she is trying to arrange a funeral for her son, to be held sometime after next Monday when an autopsy is to be conducted.
Joel, a resident of 27 Laing Avenue, was found around 6 am on the Liliendaal seawall wearing a t-shirt and his underpants, hours before his latest production opened at the National Cultural Centre.
His throat was slashed so badly his windpipe was protruding.

His face had wounds consistent with it being hit with a blunt object and the perpetrators had also used a knife to inflict other injuries. Valuables which he had in his possession, including a laptop computer and production material for Wednesday’s premiere of Mori J’von Comedy Jam, were missing

Joel was last seen around 11:30pm on Tuesday when he was dropped off at Orange Walk Bourda, after completing grand rehearsals for the comedy jam.

The man’s girlfriend was detained for questioning shortly after the discovery but was released after giving the ranks at the Sparendaam Police Station a statement.
