Dear Editor,
‘…by November 5 blackouts will be a thing of the past…’ Did I dream that up or is it an extract from a statement by a manager of GPL? The stark reality is that the past is still with us
A prominent political leader of the 1950s once said that “It is easier to stop tomorrow than to stop communism.” An astute commentator today with both eyes on Guyana’s electricity woes could appropriately assert, “One can no more stop tomorrow than one can stop blackouts.”
When a previous (foreign) management team at GPL was found to be incompetent it was sent packing. As lawyers are wont to say: “and further I say not.”
Yours faithfully,
Rashleigh E. Jackson.
