Jermaine Durant was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge of carnal knowledge which stated that between November 24 and 25 he had carnal knowledge of a 15-year-old girl.
His lawyer, Paul Fung-a-Fat applied for reasonable bail for him on the grounds that he had an unblemished record in the court prior to this incident and he posed no risk of flight.
The matter was called up to the magistrate’s bench where a lengthy discussion ensued and then Durant was escorted out of the court by a policeman.
The matter was transferred to the Providence Magistrate’s Court for today.
