It is alleged that the teen had carnal knowledge of a “female juvenile” on October 21 while she was in custody at the Springlands Police Station for wandering. In a press release last evening police said the 16-year-old boy was read the charge by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.
Initial reports, police said, had indicated that the teen is a member of a Community Policing Group but investigations revealed this to be untrue. The accused, according to police, usually frequented the Springlands Police Station where he assisted in the maintenance of the compound and had become familiar to the police ranks and members of Community Policing Groups operating there. He returns to court tomorrow.
