Findlay, who had a brief stint – as a batsman — in international cricket last year, returned impressive figures and wrecked Tamar Lambert’s side for a second innings 202, giving Bernard’s side victory by an innings and 89 runs at Melbourne.
Trailing by a massive 291 runs on first innings after Bernard’s XI posted 473 all out in response to their first innings 182, Lambert’s side collapsed after resuming on 70 for one on Tuesday’s last day.
Findlay, who played nine One Day Internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals for West Indies between July 2008 and January this year, claimed five for 28 off 12 overs with five maidens.
His victims included captain Lambert (18) and West Indies batsmen Donovan Pagon (45) and Carlton Baugh (25).
Danza Hyatt top-scored with 54 and leg-spinner Odean Brown bagged two for 56 off 19.3 overs.
Findlay had scored 39 in Bernard XI’s first innings total that produced half centuries for fast-bowling all-rounder Andre Russell (85), Maverick Perry (78), Xavier Marshall (69) and Bevon Brown (54 not out).
The third and final trial match is slated to start Friday after which an 18-man squad will be selected to start preparing for the 2010 championship.
