National player was the winner of the Guyana Table Tennis Association Handicap tournament played recently at the Malteenoes Sport Club.
In the final of the tournament which attracted some 19 entrants, Meusa with a -6 handicap, defeated Dwayne Gibson (-4) 6-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-7.
Hewley Griffith (-5) defeated Kyle Edghill (+2) 11-9, 12-10, 9-11, 8-11, 7-11 (3-2) in the third place play-off.
Gibson had earlier defeated Griffith (-5) 11-2, 11-2, 11-5 (3-0) in his semi-final match while Meusa defeated Edghill (+2) 11-9, 11-7, 12-10.
In the quarter-finals Griffith (-5) defeated Stefan Cornette(+5) 9-11,12-10,11-9,5-11,12-10; Gibson (-4) defeated Chelsea Edghill (+1) 9-11,11-7,11-7,11-5; Meusa (-6) defeated Warren Hackshaw (-4) 11-8,11-7,11-8 and Kyle Edghill (+2) defeated Joel Alleyne (-5) 11-6,11-5,8-11,11-7.
The GTTA will organize a Masters tournament on Sunday at the Malteenoes Sports Club starting from 10am.
The categories to be contested are 40 years over, 50 years and over and 60 years and over.
