South Georgetown’s Terrence Alstrom produced a good all-round performance to lead his team to an eight wicket victory over Essequibo Islands in the quarter-final of the Guyana Cricket Board/Ministry of Education Under-15 limited overs countrywide tournament.
Alstrom finished the match on an even unbeaten half century as his team cruised to 89-2 in 23.4 overs on a heavy outfield.
His knock was decorated with four sixes and followed his 2-12 when Essequibo Islands batted.
Essequibo Islands were bundled out for 88 in 34.2 overs in the match which was reduced to 35 overs-a-side instead of the initial 40.
Andrew Gibson, who shared in a 72-run partnership with Alstrom for the third wicket, finished unbeaten on 18.
When Essequibo Islands batted they lost wickets constantly and were it not for the 31 extras thrown down by South Georgetown they would not have reached their final total after they were reeling 60-8.
Moin Khan topscored with 24 which included two boundaries and a six, while he was supported by national Under-15 player Ricardo Adams who made 19 including two sixes and a boundary.
Devon Lord and Rodell Dazell were the other bowlers for South Georgetown with miserly figures of 2-7 from six overs and 2-11 from six overs respectively.
