Yesterday, BK International Limited renewed its partnership with the Western Tigers Football Club during a simple ceremony at the head office where they handed over gears and a sponsorship cheque which covers the club’s disbursements.
Western Tigers’ Shawn Bevaugn, on loan for the upcoming 20th anniversary Kashif and Shanghai competition received the cheque on behalf of the club.
President of the Western Tigers club, Gordon Gilhuys, stated that they are always thankful for the co-operation and commitment from corporate entities.
“I think over the last two years the sponsorship has done well for the youths, the club and the community, added to that the disciplined of the club has been improved. “ he said
“Winning the Mackeson Tournament, being runners up in the Namilco Tournament and poised in the quarter-finals for the Mayor Birth Anniversary 7-a-side football are all testimonies of the club’s improvement,” Gilhuys implied.
“Currently we are preparing for the Kashif and Shanghai tournament and we hope to do quite well in that. Of course we would not have done this without the corporate sponsors because the only time you get something from football is when you win a tournament” Gilhuys told Stabroek Sport.
