Dear Editor,
Another Guyanese has lost her life in tragic circumstances on the treacherous roads of Guyana. My deepest condolences to the family of Minister Fox. If this is not a wake-up call, I do not know what is any more in Guyana.
Drivers and pedestrians are simply out of control in a country where drivers’ licences can be bought and bribes are a way of life. Driving is a privilege, not a right, and it is time the government take the bull by the horns and clamp down forcefully on those who create carnage on the roads in Guyana. The nation’s roads are congested to begin with, and to be crawling with maniacs and the reckless adds fuel to a dangerous fire.
I hope this terrible tragedy generates dynamic change and positive action.
Yours faithfully,
Michael Maxwell
