A ganja trafficker was jailed for three years when he appeared at the Fort Wellington Magistrate’s court yesterday.
Wade Anthony Byass, 34, of La Grange, West Bank Demerara admitted to a charge of trafficking in narcotics and was handed the sentence by Magistrate Nigel Hawke.
Police said that at about 10:50 pm on Tuesday, ranks at a roadblock at Fort Wellington, West Coast Berbice, stopped and searched a motor vehicle during which 1 kilogramme of compressed cannabis sativa was found. Byass was arrested and charged with the offence, to which he admitted in court.
