Cinderella Promotions, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture will entertain Christmas shoppers with its Christmas Peace and Unity Concert on the lawns of the National Museum, Water Street from 10 am on Tuesday.
According to a press release from Cinderella Promotions, the main feature of the concert will be the Dynamos String Orchestra, a 12-member band including vocalists Dennis Dummett ak ‘Killer Miller’, Cyd Hooper, Dennis Grant, RG and Little B.
The Dynamos band is expected to take to the stage at noon and during its set, the Cinderella Promotions Christmas CD will be launched. The release said recording artistes from the Cinderella Studio will then present original renditions from 2 pm.
A two-hour gospel concert starts at 4 pm at the same venue bringing together acts from churches across Georgetown and immediately following, the Dynamos will perform another live two-hour presentation.
At 8 pm, the mic will be open to poets, comedians and dramatists, the release said.
Meanwhile, after Christmas, Cinderella Promotions will host two days of family fun on December 26 and 27 at Cinderella Park, Zeelugt. The events will feature children’s games, indoor games and novelty items like tug-o-war, sack race, late for work and needle and thread races along with cultural performances by Dynamos and local artistes.
The Dynamos band has also been booked for the Old Year’s Night Ball at Club Sky 7, Sea Breeze Hotel, Pere Street, Kitty, the release said.
Cinderella Promotions also announced that come January it will start rehearsals with its calypsonians for the Mashramani competition. The Cinderella Calypso Tent will tour communities in Guyana throughout January and February, the release said.
