GBTI awards Primelife winners, donates to charities

The Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry recently awarded winners in the Primelife Club Prize Giveaway and made monetary donations to a number of charitable organisations.
In a press release the Bank said the recipients included Uncle Eddie’s Home, the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana, the David Rose School for the Handi-capped, the Dharm Shala – Bene-volent Home for all Races, the Guyana Red Cross Society, the Periwinkle Club and the Guyana Society for the Blind.

Assistant Manager, Research and Planning, Sean Noel, who served as chairperson of the function, said the activity is hosted annually and it is the Bank’s way of assisting charities to fulfil their mandates. He said it boosts their abilities to respond in times of crisis in the lives of needy persons. According to Noel the donation also complements donations given to other organisations throughout the year.

Senior Manager, Inspection Division John Barnes presented the donations to the charities and Denise Boodie, representative from the Uncle Eddie’s Home gave the vote of thanks. Meanwhile, Marketing and Public Relations Officer Dahana Ramjist said the Bank lauds the charities’ commitment to helping less fortunate persons and those in need of support.

Ramjist also congratulated the winners in the Primelife Competition and encouraged them to continuing banking with GBTI. The winners are Mohamed and/or Bibi Kassim and Joan Alleyne. Senior Manager, Operations Vidya Singh presented the prizes to the Primelife Club winners.

The ceremony was held at the Bank’s Water Street location.
