The Guyana Action Party says real charity must seek to lift each suffering soul out of the vicious circle of poverty and despair  – not for a fleeting moment or a season – but for a lifetime.

In a message yesterday, it added that the best gifts are those tools, such as skills, knowledge and opportunity.

“Therefore I look forward to the churches in particular to forge ahead with programmes to lift not only the spirits of the needy but also their state of existence, our government to provide the environment and opportunities and each one of us to play a positive role within our families, which impacts on the communities in which we live”, its MP, Everall Franklin, added.
