A man, who allegedly indecently exposed himself to a woman while he was drunk, was yesterday placed on $20,000 bail, when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Cyril Balkaran of Gordon Street, Kitty, had pleaded not guilty to the charge of indecent exposure when acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson read it to him.

He denied that on December 23, he indecently exposed his privates to a woman. The woman, who was also present in court, stated that on the day in question, she was on her veranda when she saw Balkaran, who appeared drunk, and had started to verbally abuse her.

She said that Balkaran then pulled down his pants, took out his privates “and ask me if I want it”.

She noted that she told him to desist from doing so but he continued to expose his privates to her.

She later made a report of the incident to the police station.

Balkaran, who appeared surprised, told the court that he never exposed himself to the woman.

He is expected to make another court appearance on December 28.
